Qualcomm Brings Upgrades to Snapdragon 632, 429 and 439

Qualcomm has brought upgrades to its Snapdragon 632, 429, and 439 at the MWC Shanghai 2018 in order to advance the next-gen mid-level smartphones.

The new mobile platforms provide advanced features on battery life, efficient designs, significant power enhancements, AI capabilities, camera, and graphics. These are aimed at sufficing today’s growing diverse needs of smartphone users.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 carries a Kryo 250 CPU with four performance cores and four efficiency cores, with 40% performance boosts over its predecessor. It supports fast web browsing, extended battery life, and sublime UI. The camera ISP supports up to 24 MP for the single camera and up to 13 MP for each dual camera. The original equipment manufacturers will now have more options for designing devices.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform also comprises of Qualcomm Adreno 506 GPU, offering a stunning view on the FHD+ display, 10% faster UI, and videos and games with quicker loading and in elegant colors. The integration of Snapdragon X9 LTE modem in the mobile platform provides 300 Mbps of download speed, over 10 hours of video streaming and gaming, over 8 days of music playback, and over 1 day of talk time.

The other two mobile platforms of the company, Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 and 439, belonging to the 400-tier, come with advanced FinFET process technology. This lets OEMs have more freedom and flexibility in adding features and capabilities to mobiles.

Also, these platforms raise battery life with 25% higher performance and 25% less power usage. These platforms are boasted with Snapdragon X6 modem supporting 150 Mbps of download speed and Dual SIM Dual VoLTE voice and data.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 has 8-core CPU, Adreno 505 GPU rendering 20% faster graphics, single camera ISP of 21 MP, dual cameras at 8 MP each, and support for FHD+ display. As for the 429 platform, it bears 4-core CPU, Adreno 504 GPU with 50% faster rendering, 16 MP for the single camera, 8 MP for dual cameras each, and diverse lighting and depth modes for photos and videos.
