There are several fully wireless earbuds in the market but the most preferred headphones are the banded Bluetooth in-ear headphones. Banded wireless headphones are much more reasonably priced than their complementary counterparts, along with significantly longer battery life.

The Qualcomm QCC3026 is a flash-programmable Bluetooth Audio System-on-Chip (SoC) launched by Qualcomm, a wireless headphone taken to the next level. It is designed for the purpose of reducing power consumption by up to 50% compared to previous generation entry-level flash devices.

Consumers are eager for earbuds they can use all day, when they are at home, in the office or out. This next level technology is a cost-effective true wireless solution that adds superior sound quality and great price value. -said Anthony Murray, senior vice president, and general manager, voice & music, Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd. He adds that

Qualcomm’s new SoC is manufactured in a way to stabilize its performance in order to help its producers develop and commercialize the truly wireless headsets. To say simply if you take a set of last-gen fully wireless headphones and put the new chip in them, they will have double the battery life.

In addition, dedicated components are offered by the new chip for active noise cancellation and hearing augmentation that will bring augmented reality applications much more realistic with no loss of listening time. The headphone chip is much faster than its previous chips, allowing efficient step sensors as well as amplified digital processing competence that will provide with better sound effects.

Another key block we decided to add is based on the whole emergence of products like Amazon Echo and the Google Home product. – Anthony Murray

According to Murray, this new chip has what he calls the ‘always-on-voice’ where one can easily initiate a session with the cloud assistant without the need to push a button. All you need to do is to say ‘Alexa’ or ‘Ok Google’.

Cell phone maker Oppo offers a set of fully wireless headphones using the QCC3026 chip with its new Find X smartphone, which will provide truly wireless listening options. It is not sure whether the other premium phones will take the lead of Oppo or not.

This exciting leap offered by Qualcomm raises their bar which makes us look forward to the other exciting products that might hit the market in the next two years.
