With the advent of the 2018 MacBook Pro models today, the sale of the 2015 MacBook Pro by Apple has come to an end. It has remained available for purchase online before Apple decided to discontinue selling it.

The notebook had a wide range of connectivity options, including an HDMI port, a pair of Thunderbolt 2 and USB-A ports, an SD card reader, and Apple’s MagSafe power connector. For customers showing a preference for these features, Apple continued selling the 15-inch configuration of the 2015 MacBook Pro.

But the 2016 and later MacBook Pro is only equipped with two or four Thunderbolt 3 ports, compared to it, although that depends on the model. The 2016 counterpart of it provides power, USB, HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA over one single connection. But besides that, all notebooks by Apple notebooks still have 3.5mm headphone jacks.

In 2012, Apple had first introduced the overall design of the 2015 MacBook Pro, and that was also when the first MacBook Pro models with Retina displays were released. The notebook used to be slimmer than the pre-existing models, since Apple decided to remove the built-in Ethernet port and CD/DVD optical drive.

With the departure of the 2015 model, the last MacBook Pro with a scissor mechanism keyboard, the new lineup is available only in Thunderbolt 3 models. The 2016 and 2017 models have a butterfly mechanism keyboard, which has caused many customer issues. Anyway, if you are in search of broad connectivity without the use of adapters, you have to confine your usage to only the outdated MacBook Air, which was equipped with Thunderbolt 2, MagSafe 2, two USB-A ports, and an SD card reader.

However, as long as there is still supply, the 2015 MacBook Pro is still being sold on clearance. MacRumors reader Christopher says that these models are completely new and unopened.
