The race of pop-up cameras is started, we hope to see more fuel on the fire in the future. There are now two beautiful smartphones with pop-up cameras and impressively all-screen design, the Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX. These two phones are from Chinese companies and excited to show the world what the Chinese can do.
In the past, Chinese smartphones were considered quite cheap and they’re limited to a limited range of features. But with the passage of time, so many Chinese brands emerged into the world and they have managed to impress the world beautifully. So many Chinese phone makers to sell their phones in millions and do give a tough time to Samsung and Apple devices.
In the past, these two brands were famous for bringing innovative features and now Chinese brands are playing a vital role in offering innovative smartphones with amazing features in the market.
Not a while ago, Vivo introduced the Vivo NEX – a beautiful handset with almost 100% screen-to-body ratio and pop up cameras. This phone does not use any space for cameras and sensors from the front panel in favor of increase-in-size-of-display. It rather preferred a pop-up camera. And now, Oppo has played the game in the same pattern.
Moreover, we hope to see so many brands to arrive doing so in the future. The Oppo Find X vs Vivo NEX, they are impressive and packed with tons of power but which one to pick this year? You should compare.
Design and display
What matters most when choosing a phone? I think design and display make matter when choosing the phone of this type. The Vivo NEX comes with a large 6.59-inches display, this is AMOLED display made by Samsung. It does off Full HD+ resolution and the display do cover 86% screen to body ratio. The Oppo Find X has 6.42-inches AMOLED display which does cover one percent more, it has 87% screen to body ratio.
Vivo has completely ruined bezels and round the display from three sides, it is very minimal thin. And the Find X has a curved panel with same resolution with a little more sharpness. It does offer more fun. The difference is minor but every single bit does play a role.
Both handsets come under glass, the use of glass is found on front and backside. The Find X looks great with full coverage of glass, it does not feature any rear camera for an eye-catching look. You do get a pop-up camera for meeting needs. The power button is on the right side and volume keys are on the left side, at the bottom you have USB C port and SIM card option.
It measures at 156.7 x 74.2 x 9.4mm, the phone has a curved display and curved edges from the back. You should be comfortable to use everything. What about Vivo? It has a little wider and bigger, it is 162 x 77 x 8mm in dimension. It has a USB C at bottom and headphone jack at the top. Keep in mind, the Find X has no jack.
The Find X has shiny colors, Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue that look beautiful. The Vivo NEX is good as well, in black and red colors.
Camera
The game is spicy here, the Vivo has two cameras on the rear side. It has one 12 MP camera equipped with an f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.5″ sensor, 1.4µm pixel featuring dual pixel PDAF and 4-axis OIS. The second camera is 5 MP featuring f/2.4 aperture and depth sensor. The Oppo Find X has no rear-sided camera, it attracts with a pop-up panel offering two cameras. One is 16 MP equipped with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, OIS and second one are 20 MP with f/2.0 aperture.
When it comes to the front, both have pop-up cameras, the Find X has a 25 MP sensor and Vivo NEX is offering just 8 MP sensor.
Hardware
Another important point to note when buying a new smartphone. Both have Octa-core chips and 8 GB of RAM. Moreover, you get two versions of storage on both phones, you get 128 GB and 256 GB options to pick from when choosing. You do not get physical fingerprint sensors on these phones. Vivo NEX looks quite impressive with an in-display fingerprint sensor, it does work fine and you should not run into issues when using this. Oppo Find X has no fingerprint sensor, it meets your need with an O-Face technology. You can unlock the phone with this using front camera and an infrared sensor.
What about the battery? The Vivo NEX has a 4000mAh battery which sounds good on paper and in use. This is huge amount among top flagships in the world. The Find X has a 3730mAh battery which you can charge completely in just around half an hour.
Verdict
So which one to pick? It depends on the mind of users, both phones are available in a shiny design with powerful hardware. You get impressive camera sensors and a lot more to enjoy. Vivo can inspire with in-display fingerprint technology and Oppo can be attractive with impressive fast charging. Overall, they are almost similar to each other and impressive.
