Chinese tipster Kumamoto Technology has posted on Weibo yesterday, July 26 about the coming release of Oppo’s latest smartphone, the R17.
The phone is, of course, the next R-Series of the brand succeeding R15 and R15 Dream Mirror, instead of the R15s lineup. Most enticingly, Oppo R17 is packing a whopping 10GB RAM, which is the chief highlight among its specs.
With the announcement post, Kumamoto has shared an image of a media event sponsored by Oppo, evidently showing that the company is teasing the R17. This further solidifies the fact that Oppo R17 is coming to China in the coming months.
Several other whistle-blowers in the country, including Kumamoto, are claiming for the last two months that smartphones with 10GB RAM will be coming from Oppo and Vivo within this year. Kumamoto in its R17 post has as well shared one of its previous posts that say Oppo is developing a smartphone with such powerful RAM. This previous post hinted that there will be more than one flagship phones from the brand.
Oppo’s highest RAM infused in its smartphones is 8GB so far, which you’ll find in Oppo Find X. Both of R17’s predecessors, R15, and R15 Dream Mirror are packing 6GB RAM. No wonder the brand will want to upgrade things up this way.
In the thread of the R17 post on Weibo, it has been further revealed that Vivo X23 might be coming in September and that the brand’s Xplay7 will follow next. One user confidently expressed that there could be an Oppo R17 Pro coming up as well, which might just be identical to Vivo NEX.
That’s quite a handful of new phones on the way, with possible upgrades supporting features like 10GB RAM. Stay with us to follow the development and get hold of specs, price and other details to choose your next favorite phone from Oppo or Vivo.
