Apple 2018 iPad Pro will not have headphone jacks, suggests new talk

2018 iPad Pro

We just received a report from yesterday, July 27 that Apple’s iPad Pros that are slated to release this year will be dropping headphone jacks.

The models of 10.5-and the 12.9-inch display will be shrinking certain of their dimensions as well, the same report claims, coming from the Japanese website Macotakara. According to them, the 10.5-inch model will switch from 250.6 x 174.1 x 6.1mm to 247.5 x 178.7 x 6mm, and the 12.9-inch model will go from 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9mm to 280 x 215 x 6.4mm.

Having said that, there will be two microphones jointly equipped at the top of the models, which will serve as the perfect substitute for the 3.5mm jack.

Macotakara further says that the 2018 iPad Pros will not support face recognition in portrait mode, but it has been repeated several times that the models will be adopting the Face ID. However, not having the recognition support in portrait mode might make iPad fans unhappy, especially the ones with a keyboard. As a makeup, Apple might change the iPad Pro Smart Keyboard to a vertical alignment.

The report also adds that the models may have diamond cuts in both front and rear panels, which will let iPhone SE have a bigger design. Lastly, Macotakara suggests that Smart Connectors will shift nearer their Lightning connectors, towards the lower rear side of the iPads.

The 2018 iPad Pro models are expected to be shipped by the coming fall. Apple is yet to officially confirm anything out of the rumors regarding the specs.
