From today, the Chase Pay customers using the Samsung Galaxy smartphones that are compatible with it can now avail the option of linking Chase Pay to Samsung Pay. This good news implies that these customers will now have access to Samsung Pay’s Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology, and also NFC, for making payments with the Chase Pay app at many merchants in the US by just one tap on the payment terminal.

The joining together of these two wallets integrates into more advantages for the Chase cardholders, opening up more ways for them to pay with their mobile phones and also at more places than before, thereby making the entire payment mechanism through the wallet feature more efficient, effective and thereby more appealing. To add to this is the fact that Samsung Pay is a popular wallet feature that is available at nearly all payment terminals, and hence it is no surprise that it is the most widely accepted mobile payment product in the US today, so it goes without saying that the decision to collaborate with Samsung Pay is a well-charted and beneficial move by Chase Pay.

For all the purchases they make, the consumers will be able to earn both Samsung Rewards points and for those holding the eligible Chase cards; they will be able to earn the Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Not only this, they will also get to benefit from the Chase Pay app’s pay with points feature, which enables customers to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points for a statement credit at checkout, which is another advantage to delight upon. Both small and large merchants can allow their customers to use Chase Pay as a payment method without any extra implementation cost.

Now our customers can use the Chase Pay app at millions of merchants around the country. And Chase Ultimate Rewards customers can redeem their points more easily. – Jennifer Roberts, head of Chase Pay

In this line, Sang Ahn, VP and General Manager of Samsung Pay at Samsung Electronics America outline Samsung Pay’s vision as: “Our vision for Samsung Pay is to create the most rewarding mobile shopping experience, whether consumers checkout at a physical merchant or find great deals within the Samsung Pay app. “We’re thrilled to bring Samsung Pay’s unique technology for the benefit of both Chase and Samsung’s customers by offering consumers more choices and better mobile payment experiences.”
