BlackBerry KEY2 was launched last week in India, and now Amazon India is selling the flagship Android device with a host of launch offers. Additionally, Jio subscribers will too get the benefit of Rs. 4,450 in purchasing the phone.

For specs, the BlackBerry KEY2 sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD FHD display supporting 1080 x 1620 resolutions, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The make is embraced in a 7000 series aluminum frame and a diamond pattern rear panel made from polycarbonate.

It is powered by Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC clocking at 2.2GHz coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage is the only storage variant, (although, Amazon is selling a 64GB storage variant) and it comes with a Hybrid dual-SIM slot configuration, being expandable up to 256GB. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo with BlackBerry DTEK security suite and minor customizations.

BlackBerry KEY2 is the first smartphone from BlackBerry that’s launched in India with a rear dual camera setup. It features a primary 12 MP sensor with 1.14um pixel size and f1.8 aperture with 79.3 degrees of wide angle lens. The secondary sensor is of 12 MP with 1.0um pixel size and f2.6 aperture. It can record up to 4K resolution of videos with 30 frames per second. The front camera has an 8 MP sensor dedicated for selfies, and it supports 1080p FHD video capture.

BlackBerry Key 2 AmazonThe USP for the handset is that it has a 4-row QWERTY physical backlit keyboard and the fingerprint reader mounted into the spacebar, which is similar to the BlackBerry KEYone. KEY2 also packs a 3,500mAh battery along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that delivers 50% charge in just 36 minutes.

Among connectivity features are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC and USB 3.0 Type-C. The device measures 151.4 x 71.8 x 8.5mm and weighs 168 grams. It competes with the likes of Vivo NEX, Honor 10, OnePlus 6, and Asus ZenFone 5Z.

BlackBerry KEY2 is manufactured in India by Optiemus Infracom Limited that’s licensed to sell the brand’s devices in the country and the markets of her neighbors.

The phone is priced at Rs. 42,990 in India, BlackBerry teamed up with Amazon to provide the following launch offers. There’s a 5% instant discount on ICICI Bank credit card EMI transactions. Second, a 10% cashback with Citi Credit cards on EMI transactions for Amazon Prime members. Next, a No Cost EMI on all major credit cards, including the Bajaj Finserv EMI card. Citi credit cards also have a Rs.2,000 cashback offer. The most exciting is the cashback on ICICI cards that amounts to Rs. 2,250.
