Honor has finally launched its new smartphone, Honor Play, in India, which is the first ever Honor smartphone that introduces the brand new GPU Turbo technology. The GPU Turbo is supposed to make the device up to 60% more efficient in graphics processing for a smoother gaming experience, while also reducing battery consumption by 30%.
Honor Play runs on the 10nm Kirin 970 octa-core processor, paired with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, and an NPU that handles AI related functions. Speaking of which, it is also the most affordable phone which uses Kirin 970.

The device has a metal unibody design, measuring 157.91 x 74.27 x 7.48 mm and weighing 176 g. It lets you choose between two colors – Midnight Black and Navy Blue, but there is yet no word about the arrival of the special edition phone that will have a textured back panel.

Honor Play CameraThe Honor Play is a real winner when it comes to the optics department, featuring 16MP + 2MP dual cameras and a 16MP front with an aperture of f/2.0. While the rear camera has faster dual-core autofocus and AI features, both the front and back cameras have 3D studio lighting and portrait mode.

The phone’s system is run by EMUI 8.2, an Android 8.1 Oreo-based software, and supports Dual VoLTE sims, besides having a hybrid SIM card slot. The device’s battery is a non-removable 3,750mAh one and supports fast charging.

It is noteworthy that the device has a fingerprint sensor placed on the back, along with face recognition ability.
In the Indian market, the 4GB & 6GB RAM devices are priced at Rs 19,999 and Rs 23,999 respectively and will be only sold online via Amazon India, starting from 4 pm today.
