Blogs help people share their voices and augment the dynamism of the web. Google too, aims to organize information from all around the world and helping everyone share their voice. On September 7, Google launched the Blog Compass app, which gathers all essential elements needed to run a blog and brings them to a single place. These include tracking visitor information, engaging readers, monitoring Search engine presence, and even finding new topics to write about.

The app is currently in open beta and is available for Android users in India in English and Hindi.

Blog Compass by Google integrates with two of the largest blogging platforms in India, WordPress and Blogger.com. After logging in to a WordPress or Blogger.com account, Blog Compass connects to Google Analytics and Search Console, allowing users to check viewer numbers, traffic sources, demographic information, Google Search status, and popular Google searches leading to that particular blog.

Based on its analysis of the user’s post history and interests, this app provides detailed Google Trends data fit for the user’s blog to aid them with a probable subsequent topic of interest.

Initial tests of Google Blog Compass have suggested that a majority of bloggers were able to post more often when using this app.

Google Blog Compass is currently in beta mode, which means that new features are still being added, and bugs are being fixed based on user feedback. Dru Knox, Product Manager of Google Search has encouraged people to download and use the app to give feedback, adding, ”As the product grows, we will explore support for additional blogging platforms, countries, and languages.”
