USA cities of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, and California will have the Verizon 5G network within the threshold of their home as promised by the telecom firm. Verizon today announced its plan to roll out 5G home services in a “certain neighbourhood” in the aforementioned city on 1st October. However, the service will not be available to every household, and to find out if they’ll be eligible for the connection, they will have to log on to Firston5G.com.

Interested customers can also pre-order their services which will enable them a free Apple TV 4K on the return of a traditional cable TV. The services will be priced at $50 per month for customers who are also Verizon wireless users. For those who are not, the cost is $20 higher. Verizon promises an average speed of 300MBPS which can go to the highest of 1GBPS. And the best part is that they have no data caps. Added to all these are a video angle, courtesy Google and Apple. The package includes three months of free access to YouTube TV. White glove” installation is free, as well as a free router and “router upgrades” due next year. The customers are also entitled to three months of free service.

After being the first to roll out 4G LTE in America, Verizon eyes at being the first mobile provider to offer 5G services. In fact, the customers who will sign up for the 5G internet service starting today, are promised dibs on the mobile service as and when it is launched.

Verizon 5G Home is built on Verizon’s Ultra-Wideband 5G network. And it gets every right to brag that it is the first commercial 5G service to launch in the United States. Though the service is limited to a very handful location right now, the company is eyeing an expansion very soon.
