The Korean Tech company, LG had sent out invites for the launch of its next flagship, LG V40 ThinQ. The smartphone is supposed to be introduced on 3rd October in New York and Seoul. The invitation comes with the phrase “Take five” which could mean a lot of things, had it not been rumored to come with 5 cameras.

If the phrase is a confirmation of the rumor, LG will be the first company to introduce 5 cameras in a smartphone. To clarify, the set-up is to have 3 cameras at the back and two at the front. The combination is unpreceded but Huawei’s P20 Pro came with a triple camera set-up at the back and many companies have featured phone with a dual front camera. While it’s still speculation, since the company’s dual rear camera set-up usually had a wide-angle camera paired with a unique panoramic ultra-wide lens, we are guessing that the third camera will be a telephoto lens.

Let us remind you that LG was the first company to use a multi-camera setup way back in 2015 with its flagship V10. The phone used a double camera on the front, but LG’s later flagships had concentrated on dual cameras at the back and ditched the two-camera setup in front. However, V40 ThinQ seems to come back to its starting point. The second camera in the front will be helpful for better depth detection and for perfect portrait selfies.

The features are already known via leaks – we were already able to catch a glimpse of the data sheet for the LG V40. There’s a Snapdragon 845 chip, 6GB of RAM and a battery with 3,300 mAh capacity.

Hope October 3rd will put all speculations to rest and the smartphone will emerge to be as good as it seems to be.
