At the 2018 Hangzhou Yunqi Conference, Alibaba released a new AliOS 2.0 system which is promised to better in five fields: perception, interaction, application, platform, and security. AliOS 2.0 is predicted to redefine the standards of next-generation internet cars.
New perception: This includes a more comprehensive reception of the car, which would cover the car machine, tire pressure, and other essential aspects. The system will build FaceID based on face recognition, make the driving experience of thousands of people felt better. It would give a better idea of road conditions with integrated V2X technology it will support in road coordination.
New interaction: AliOS 2.0 will build multi-modal fusion intelligent interaction mode based on “quick gesture,” “speech + gesture” and “speech + touch.” The system will also support the multi-screen display and such related operations in the car. The central control screen would display the map while the rear is meant to showcase the music. Not just that, the player can be controlled independently, and the screen content can be shared by drag and drop.
New application: It will provide AR navigation service, integrating navigation information with real-life navigation made easy with sensing the road condition and AR technology. It will have real-time navigation; real-time monitoring of driving behavior and vehicle status based on human, vehicle and environmental data perception. It will also provide driving risks for enterprises including individual Management services.
New platform: This is essentially a vehicle-oriented application development framework and provides an on-machine learning inference framework to optimize the system. The open application framework includes intelligent interaction, vehicle application development model, AI, and vehicle data; the online reasoning framework has the advantages of high real-time, privacy protection, without the need for networking, and performance optimization in combination with hardware.
New security: The system promises a comprehensive improvement of the level of internet car security, therefore, strengthening user privacy and data security.
In 2014, Alibaba had first launched the research and development of the automotive operating system. Two years later Roewe RX5 equipped with Zebra Zhixing, based on AliOS, was officially launched, creating the category of “Internet Car”. At present, Roewe, Chase, MG, Dongfeng Citroen, Ford, and Guanzhi are using the Albiz-based Zebra system.
Imad Sousou, Intel Corporation Vice President and the president and general manager of Open Source Technology Center, having attended the conference, congratulated AliOS 2.0 on its successful launch. Intel has long-term close cooperation with Alibaba and is an important contributor to AliOS. AliOS 2 is an important step towards building an Internet automotive ecosystem. As the world’s leading technology company, Intel is eager to work with AliOS and help to create a smarter future travel experience for global consumers.
