As Facebook celebrates Marketplace’s 2 years anniversary, they took this happy moment to announce some updates they are making to the product and adding new features that use Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Facebook Marketplace was introduced in the year 2016 as a place for people to buy and sell items or products within their local communities. And par anyone’s imagination, it has grown to be a place where people around the world can discover things like connect with people, earn a living, and launch their own business.

Facebook believes that AI can radically change the perspective of the way people shop; this also brings a lot of excitement because of the potential opportunities and the value it brings.

They are introducing new features that use AI for price rate suggestions and auto-categorization. They are also testing features of the camera that could use AI to recommend products you might get interested in, it can also recommend a list similar to yours for sale nearby.

AI could help simplify tasks like completing an outfit or home designs assignments in the near future. They have also added a variety of contents like from business, home rentals, home services, and shopping deals from eCommerce sellers. The Facebook Marketplace is now among the top place to buy and sell used cars.

Some key features are mentioned as follows –

1. Buyer and Seller Ratings: Buyer and seller can now rate each other based on their experience which would help others in making decisions.

2. Detecting and Removing Inappropriate Content: All thanks to AI that they are able to detect and remove items that violate.

3. More Robust Reporting Tools: Community helps to make buying and selling better for everyone as now if you see an item or content that you feel is inappropriate, you can simply report that.
