After a period of great success in the past few years, Motorola’s G-series met with a subsequent decline in popularity. However, the word is that Motorola is currently working on its next-generation G-series smartphones – Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus.

Thanks to OnLeaks (Twitter account), the first CAD-based renders of the Moto G7 show that it will be the smaller of the two G-series smartphones that Motorola will be launching next year. It also reveals a waterdrop-style notch display and a curved back, unlike the current Moto G6.

The upcoming Moto G7 and G7 Plus, as well as other 2019 Motorola mid-range and flagship smartphones, are expected to feature a higher screen-to-body ratio as compared to G6.

The Moto G7 is a budget smartphone with a significant chin at the bottom, with Motorola branding. The rear side of the Moto G7 appears to feature a 3D curved glass back similar to the one seen on the Moto X4.

Furthermore, it appears to include two camera sensors and a dual-LED flash inside the rear circular module. It is expected to include 16MP + 5MP dual cameras at the rear and a 12MP resolution snapper on the front as a selfie camera. There is a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the Motorola logo located below the circular module.

At the bottom, we can find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille. The right side of the handset contains the power and volume control keys.

The Moto G7 will measure 157 x 75.3 x 8mm, and the smartphone will measure 9.5mm in thickness with the camera bump included. It is too early to say anything for certain about key specifications of the Moto G7 but it is certain that its display will measure roughly 6.0-inches diagonally.

Moreover, the Moto G7 is expected to feature a Full HD+ resolution display. Whether it will run on an octa-core processor is unconfirmed. Storage capacity is expected to be 4GB RAM+ 64GB internal storage. With a 3500mAh capacity battery, a healthy improvement from Moto G6’s 3000mAh battery, the smartphone is expected to operate on Android 9.0 Pie OS.
