Uber has planned something new this election; it is said that Uber will add a new button in the app, which would help people to find and look for rides to their polling place easily. This is a great initiative taken by Uber as this would make people go out and vote.

A tweet by Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi says,“ Decisions get made by those who show up. That’s why uber is putting our technology to work so on election day November 6, you can drive”. Poll locator by Uber will be available all over the US; it’s mainly targeting suburban or exurban who live outside and are far from their polling place.

Though there are a lot many sites where you can get information about polling places, getting it with a transportation service vanishes the hesitance of traveling for voters. According to information given by the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement says that “ Roughly 15 million people didn’t vote in 2016, because of transportation issue”

Using our technology and resource, we can help make it easier for every uber rider in US to get their polling place at the push of a button. – Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber CEO

Uber wants to help riders to register and drivers to go and vote by sharing their registration information through the app.

A mail was received by all uber drivers this week; this was sent to encourage them to visit one of the 125 greenlight hubs where they can register to Uber vote.
