As Google’s Pixel 3 launch went live, the viewers and Google users around the globe can hardly keep calm. Google, on its ‘Made by Google’ fall event to launch new hardware, comes up in strong competition to Amazon’s Echo with its announcement of Google Home Hub.

Google Home is a new Google assistant device in its most updated version till date. It is made uber cool by adding a touchscreen to the existing Google Home device lineup. With the screen displaying the weather, photos, time, calendar event and other information provided by the Google Assistant, Google Smart Display serves to be the perfect companion to Google’s Home speakers.

However, unlike Amazon’s Echo, Google’s Home Hub isn’t packed with a camera so it cannot be used for the immersive video calling experience. But if you look the other way round, it’s a way to maintain privacy as you won’t have to dodge from the prying eyes from the likes of Amazon Echo Show or Facebook Portal. Google introduced a new feature called Ambient EQ for dedicated sensor and imaging, which also fine-tunes the colour and brightness of the screen.

This is a perfect device to set up in the bedroom as the screen automatically turns off the lights at night. Google Home Hub has been configured as a mass-utility device that can recognise your voice and provide personalized experience for every individual user.

At the launch event, as Mark said “Good morning”, Home Hub showcased his entire schedule along with the weather and his to-do list, which was a brilliant demonstration of how’s it gonna be like for the Home Hub users!

Apart from the bedroom, your kitchen can be an equally equipped place for the Hub as it has access to a gigantic library of recipes for display, including dishes from ‘Tasty’. This is as good as it gets for all the foodies out there.

Not only this, Google is giving a six-month subscription to Youtube premium service. As per Google, YouTube has been optimized to be compatible with the Home Hub and many ‘How-to’ videos have been granted easy access.

Google maintains that Home Hub will be the best photo-frame ever since its integration with Google photos, which constantly keeps updating so that you are shown the most recent pictures on your account. There’s also this new feature called ‘Home view’ which is basically a dashboard through which you can access and conveniently control all the smart home apps.

The new Google Home Hub comes with all major Google services plugged in like YouTube, Calendar and Maps and you can control functions on any of these given apps via voice commands through the inbuilt sound recognition mechanism. Google had announced Smart display platform around January, and since then a number of similar devices have entered the scene. Nevertheless, with its forward-looking target markets and the promise of its high-tech user experience, Home Hub is well equipped to break the clutter.

Google Home Hub is available for pre-order from today in the US, UK and Australia. And it is all set to be up for grabs as it hits the market on 22nd October in four shades: green, pink, dark grey and white. It is priced at a very pocket-friendly cost of $149 in the US. While it is still a far cry for the user ecosystem in India, for the users in US, UK and Australia, it’s time to choose your pick!
