A couple of weeks back, it was rumored that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 might eventually arrive on October 15. But now, finally, the company has said that the Mi MIX 3 will be announced at an event in Beijing on the 25th of October. Lin Bin, the Xiaomi President, has already posted a photo of the smartphone that reveals the design of the device.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was originally teased with a Find X-Esque notch that comes up, but after further investigation, it was assumed to be a screen-to-body front with a sliding back. There’s also a technical possibility that the display might be sliding and the back stationary.

Being a flagship, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will likely come powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with 8GB RAM and AI dual rear cameras. Rumors suggest that the phone could come featuring the in-display fingerprint scanner, whereas the slider of the smartphone could come with a 3D structured light module for 3D facial recognition.

In regards to the other features, it will presumably be a battery of around 3,500mAh and Android 9 Pie straight out of the box along with the MIUI 10 skin on top.

Finally, the device is expected to be the world’s first smartphone to support 5G connectivity. Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s Director of Product Management, revealed last month an image of the phone being connected to a 5G data network as part of a test. Well, nothing is yet confirmed so we’ll wait until it officially gets revealed.
