Google Pixel Slate, the last Made by Google 2018 product can now be pre-ordered on Best Buy

The last ‘Made by Google, 2018’ product, Google Pixel Slate, that has yet to be released, has finally been made available for pre-order on Best Buy; with a Best Buy listing featuring an expected launch date of 22nd November. The listing, which has been available since last month, has now been modified to read the release date as “not announced”; but the fact of the Chrome OS tablet being moved to the ‘Pre-Order’ status sure seems like a step in the right direction.

64GB, 8th Gen Intel Core m3 priced at $799; 128GB, 8th Gen Intel Core i5 priced at $999; and 256GB, 8th Gen Intel Core i7 priced at $1,599 are the three models that have been listed at Best Buy; which has excluded two entry-level Intel Celeron models with 4GB RAM / 32GB storage; and 8GB RAM / 64GB storage. This is understandable since although at $599, those two would be the most affordable models, Best Buy does make available devices which are at least moderately powerful.

The listing also notes the inclusion of a “USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter,” a USB-C cable, and 45W USB-C charger. This dongle is not mentioned on the Google Store and is available since the tablet lacks that input method. On the other hand, it does makeup by having two USB-C ports.

Apart from these, Keyboard for Pixel Slate, in shades of Midnight Blue, has also been made available for pre-order today. The Keyboard not only feature magnets that cleverly allow for multiple typing angles but, priced at $199 this accessory, with what Google calls “Hush Keys” also doubles as a protective cover for the Chrome OS tablet. The Midnight Blue Pixelbook Pen is also available to pre-order at $99; whose release date still appears to be November 22nd.

If these listings are any clue, retail availability has come just a day before Thanksgiving. The Google Store has yet to start pre-orders, with only a waiting list available for prospective buyers.
