Instagram has introduced automatic alternative text through which you can hear the description of the image received with the help of the screen reader when you will access your Feed.
This feature works with the help of the object recognition technology which will give a description of the image for the screen reader so that the list of what photos contain can be heard while you browse through the app.
Another thing they have introduced is custom alternative text which would add a richer description to your photos, and for the people who will use the screen reader will also be able to hear the description.
