The US Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that includes applications relating to the future entertainment system. Apple was already granted a patent for a future entertainment system with the application 20180348885 this August but filed a patent relating to this same invention.

It also further claims for the non-transitory program storage device and a continuation patent claim of acquiring an image of the scene; detecting a human face in the acquired image; employing the depth image to detect a head orientation associated with the detected human face; correlating the detected human face with the head orientation, and determining whether the user is engaging the first device based upon the face and head orientation.

The acoustic reflectance adds to the further claims made by Apple. In Patent Claim #16, Apple notes that the electronic device’s output adjustment comprises of one or more processors adjusting an audio output of the electronic device in response to the user’s location.

While the patent applications have just been filed by Apple, the timing for the launch of the product is greatly unknown.
