Sony will not participate in E3 next year, but it should reveal the first details about the successor to the PlayStation 4. Before that, however, it will stop sending games for free to PS Plus subscribers on PS3 and Vita, which will certainly reduce the interest of potential buyers for these older consoles.

More than that, the measure may encourage current owners to migrate to other products of the company (or rival ones) in the future. But the fact that from March 2019, Sony will end the monthly distribution of games by signing the online service and will start giving these gifts only on PS4.

It is worth remembering that the Sony Vita already had to have its discontinuation confirmed for next year, so the timetable would make a lot of sense. The current owners of the device, however, will not have to worry about the maintenance of network multiplayer since it will still be possible to use it: the only discontinued feature will be that of receiving games monthly.

Games already downloaded will also be kept, so the player maintains his signature. PlayStation Plus is a subscription that allows players to participate in multiplayer online. It also offers discounts on game purchases on PlayStation Store, and choosing the benefits package offers titles on selected monthly members to subscribers in the future exclusively on PS4.

The company has already stated that even the PlayStation 4 itself is entering its final cycle. Before it does, however, we should see its latest major titles that also drive sales to the successor games, such as Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, and The Last of Us 2.
