Despite the success of its main title Fortnite and all the controversies that have arisen with its growth, Epic Games wants to go beyond a game that is extremely successful.

One of the reasons for the size of the game is its cross-platform appearance; it not only lets you play on your computer, PlayStation 4, Xbox, Switch and smartphones but also lets you play with people on any platform, even if it differs from yours.

With this experience, Epic Games wants to create and launch tools that help other developers do the same with their own titles. The company even detailed its plans for the year 2019 in relation to multiplatform resources. The Epic Games multiplatform tools script is shown below:

Multiplatform script:

1. Multiplatform Data Storage, Saved Games in the Cloud (2nd quarter of 2019)

2. Login, Friend List, Presence, Profile and Multi-Platform Rights (2nd – 3rd quarter of 2019) – Provides the essence of stable player recognition across multiple sessions and handsets; identifying friends, managing free and paid item rights. This will provide support for all 7 major platforms (PC, Mac, iOS, Android, PlayStations, Xbox, Switch).

3. Multi-Platform Voice Communication (3rd quarter 2019) – Provide an in-game voice communication service, which will support all platforms, shops, engines and will be free.

4. Multiplatform Achievements and Trophies (3rd quarter of 2019)

5. Groups and Searches for Matches (3rd – 4th quarter of 2019)

Signing in is one of the few things Fortnite has not mastered in the cross-platform area, with Epic Games postponing the option of merging their accounts on different platforms. But it has hoped that until the release of the tools this has already been circumvented.

The most gratifying fact is that the features will be made available to developers free of charge, which would enable a new number of games with the multiplatform feature.
