While there was great anticipation around the phone; Huawei finally launched Nova 4 at an event in China today. It is among the very first handsets to herald a new shift in smartphone display trends.

To highlight about the smartphone, the Huawei Nova 4 will no doubt tout its punch hole display. Like the recently announced Samsung Galaxy A8s, the Nova 4 too won’t have a notch. Instead, it will have the front camera punched into the display itself.

The Nova 4 is available in a bunch of color options. These include white, blue and red that will have gradient hues. The Huawei Nova 4 features a 6.41-inch Full-HD+ display with 1080 x 2310 pixel resolution and has an 86.3% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset paired with Mali-G72 GPU. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is non-expandable. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the phone.

The Nova 4 is likely to come pre-loaded with Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9 custom skin out of the box. For security, it’ll have a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. Regarding connectivity, you’re likely to get dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and USB Type-C port.

The device is priced at 3,099 Yuan (approx. Rs 33,000), while the Nova 4 with a 48-megapixel sensor is rated at Yuan 3,399 (approx. Rs 36,000). Pre-order for Nova 4 will start from December 17 and will go on sale from December 27th. The launch event has been live streamed by the company on its official website for fans across the world to join in.
