Taiwanese tech giant ASUS seems to be planning to work on another smartphone in the series called the ASUS ZenFone 5 Max. The upcoming phone was first spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance and Geekbench, but now the device has been spotted by Geekbench with slightly different features. The listing reveals some interesting features of the mobile phone.

The Asus ZenFone 5 Max will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood with 4GB of RAM. On the software front, the latest listing reveals the ZenFone 5 Max is currently being tested on the latest Android 9 Pie operating system. Going by the benchmark scores, the company has done a decent job with software optimization. It managed to score 1,516 points in the single-core test and 5,408 points in the multi-core test.

Apart from the powerful Snapdragon 660 SoC, the ZenFone 5 Max is expected to be quite impressive in the battery life department. Going by previous leaks, we can expect the handset to pack a 5000mAh battery inside. As the listing shows, the smartphone will ship with the latest Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box. Unlike the ZenFone Max Pro M2, however, the Asus ZenFone 5 Max is expected to come with ASUS’ custom user-interface layer running on top.

While there is no confirmation on when the smartphone could be officially announced, the company is most likely to announce the ZenFone 5 Max at MWC and is expected to cost under $300 (Rs 20,000) for the base variant.
