It looks like Xiaomi has an update on board for its budgeted handset Redmi Note 6 Pro, which currently runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10. The device was marked on Geekbench as running on the latest version of Android, which is Android 9.0 Pie. Redmi Note 6 Pro is the successor of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which was launched in November last year.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro’s 3GB RAM variant scored 1,345 points in the single-core test and 4,871 points in the multi-core test. After the trials and scores, it seems that a stable update can be done and will be launched for the users very soon. But before that, Xiaomi is most likely to launch a beta MIUI 10 built on Android 9.0.

The specifications of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and its successor Redmi Note 6 Pro are very similar, except for a major difference: Note 6 Pro comes with an upgraded rear camera sensor dual 20 Megapixel plus a 2 Megapixel front snapper. It also has a larger top-notch display that is 6.26-inch Full HD+.

To date, Xiaomi has only released two budget smartphones, Mi A1 and Mi A2, with an update of Android 9 Pie as both of these devices are Android One smartphones, so it was not a surprise that they got updated to Android Pie before the other smartphones from the same brand which are MIUI custom user-interfaced.

Mi Max 3 is the only Xiaomi device to have received the Android Pie beta, but it has only rolled out in China, and it is also likely to receive the latest Android Pie update soon.

POCO F1 is the first smartphone released under POCO, a sub-brand of Xiaomi and it has also been updated to the latest Android Pie.
