Huawei will provide new high-end P30 smartphone series with 3D CuteMoji, making it possible to create more human emojis.

In the next month, several smartphone manufacturers will announce the top models for the first half of 2019. Huawei has the P30 and the P30 Pro in the planning, which will replace the current P20 series. A new trademark indicates that these smartphones are provided with new emoji possibilities.

Huawei 3D CuteMoji

Huawei Technologies filed a trademark on December 28 in Peru for the name ‘3D CuteMoji’. The application was submitted by the intermediary Indecopi from Lima, the capital of Peru. The trademark is classified as; ‘computer programs, data processing equipment, downloadable software.

Since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, several manufacturers have revealed similar emojis. Apple calls them Animoji; at Samsung, they are called AR Emoji, and Asus chooses the name ZeniMoji.

Huawei equipped its P20 series with a so-called AR lens last year. A simple variation of the emoji from Apple and Samsung. On the Mate 20 Pro, the AR lens functionality was replaced for the 3D Live Emoji, also called Qmoji. Users can choose an avatar, record a creative message and send it to friends or colleagues. This function is similar to that of the competitor.

At Huawei, you can currently mainly choose animals, such as a cat, penguin or lizard. The 3D CuteMoji will probably contain more human characteristics. Chances are that this emoji will appear on the P30 smartphones for the first time.

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro

The top model, the Huawei P30 Pro, will be the first Huawei smartphone with a quad camera or four cameras on the back. The only smartphone that currently has a quad camera is the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the P30 Pro, the fourth lens will presumably provide a large optical zoom range. In terms of design, you can assume that the screen edges are further minimized, and the notch will also become smaller.

Both devices are powered by the latest Kirin 980 SoC, which also includes the Mate 20 series. The Huawei P30 Pro has 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of memory, presumably, its smaller brother is equipped with 6 GB of RAM. Both new smartphones are expected at MWC 2019, the world’s largest trade show for the mobile industry will take place from 25 – 28 February 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro with Penta lens camera

Today it was also announced that Huawei in 2019, supposedly a smartphone with a Penta lens camera will introduce. This consists of five cameras and will probably be used for the Mate 30 Pro, which will be introduced around October 2019. Nokia has also developed a smartphone with a five-fold camera; the Nokia 9 PureView is expected at MWC 2019, just like the P30 series.
