In a post tipped on the Chinese social network Weibo, Honor, a subsidiary manufacturer of Huawei, announced the launch of its first smartphone of the year, Honor 8A, successor to Honor 7A, which hit the market in April last year.

The poster released by the company indicates some characteristics of the device, although it did not reveal any major information related to the smartphone.

The Honor 8A is expected to arrive with a 6.09-inch screen and drop-shaped notch, similar to the OnePlus 6T, which ensures a greater use of the screen. The device will be powered by an octa-core processor that is expected to be Kirin 710, according to rumours and sources until now.

Through the poster, it is revealed that the device’s internal storage space will be 64 GB and will have dual stereo setup speakers, which would make the sound experience from the device more immersive.

Honor 8A to feature a 6.09-inch screen with 13 MP rear and 8 MP front camera setup

Earlier appearances on TEENA, the benchmarking website that certifies the sale of devices sold in China, and the FCC, which regulates the industry gadgets sold in the United States, have already revealed much of the device specifications. The screen resolution is set to be at 6.09-inches and will have a 1560 x 720 pixels resolution, and the processor will run at a 2.3 GHz frequency. Speculation also points to the device’s 3GB of RAM variant and the possibility of memory expansion via microSD. The rear camera is expected to be at 13 MP and the front camera to be 8 MP.

In addition, a press render of the Honor 8A has just leaked online, which showcases the device front and back and different availability colours.

Huawei’s subdivision company, Honor, has several variants of smartphones in the most different categories of mobile devices. Among the brand’s latest handsets, we see the Honor Magic 2 and Honor V20, which arrives in Europe as Honor View 20.
