New year, New Galaxy. 2019 will be the year in which Samsung presents its Galaxy S10, and the leaks in recent months have given us a good preview of what this smartphone will include. Now, the latest leaks offer the first real glimpse at what the device screen with a hole will look like.

Samsung has been the only company, one of the largest in the smartphone market, to avoid the tendency to include a “notch” at the top of the smartphone screen of their devices. The company 2018 continued to choose to reduce the screen frame but left the necessary space to include the front camera and sensors.

However, in their desire to make the front of their smartphones just a big screen, they would have opted for what seems to be the trend that will replace the notch: a hole in the screen. In addition, according to Evan Blass’s tweet, the device is expected to feature a reverse wireless charging setup, similar to the one found in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, which could charge another wireless-charging compatible device such as smartphones and watches through its battery.

Evan Blass has filtered the first real image of the Galaxy S10, revealing what the standard model will be like (taking into account that it will have several versions). By including the hole for the selfie camera, Samsung has been able to almost completely reduce the size of the bezels in the front of the device.

The goal in the future for many manufacturers could be to incorporate the camera under the screen, but while that technology hasn’t arrived yet and is perfected, the hole seems to be the replacement of the “notch”.

Samsung is expected to present the Galaxy S10 officially during the MWC 2019, in mid-February, with a price of up to $1,700 for the most expensive model and possibly the latest smartphone from Samsung with a headphone jack.
