Xiaomi is not only good at making smartphones but also a popular power bank manufacturing company. Xiaomi announced today that they would soon be releasing the next generation power bank, Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3, which comes in a 20000mAh model. This new power bank is also being referred to as the Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 (high) Edition. Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 is essentially a variant of the previous Mi Power Bank 2i. The new Xiaomi Power Bank 3 is strikingly similar in appearance to the previous power bank launched by Xiaomi.

However, the Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 has a plastic body, unlike the Mi Power Bank 2i 10000mAh model, which sports a metallic body. The latest power bank comes with three charging ports; two regular USB-A ports and a USB Type-C port with a 45W fast charging capacity. This inclusion of three ports is what makes the Mi Power Bank 3 somewhat of an upgraded version of the previous power bank model. If only one of the Type A ports are used, it can deliver a maximum output of 5V at 3A, but the use of both of the ports brings down the charging speed to 5V at 2.4A or 9V at 2A or 12V at 1.5A. The USB Type-C newly inserted in the power bank can be used to charge the power bank itself with a supported power brick of 45W.

An ordinary Mi power bank usually takes up to 11 hours to be fully charged due to its housing of a 10W charger. But 45W decreases the time required for being fully charged to four and a half hours. Xiaomi has claimed that a MacBook Pro can also be charged with the help of the Type C port in the power bank.

The power bank comes in two colors, black and white, and it is priced at 199 Yuan in China. It is expected to be launched on 11th January in China. It is not clear yet when it will be released in the Indian market.
