Two new Nokia smartphone models will be available for sale in Finland on 14 January. Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 5.1 Plus advance sales start today. The Nokia 8.1 expected Price in Finland is EUR 399, which is a fairly competitive price compared to the features of the phone. The recommended price for Nokia 5.1 Plus is 199 euros.

Nokia 8.1 was announced internationally in early December at China, the same phone was launched in mid-October under the X7 model name. According to the company, the Nokia 8.1 is the successor of the internationally award-winning Nokia 7 Plus smartphone, which is well-known in the marketplace, with improved performance and functionality. Smartphone design has also been upgraded to make it more elegant by utilizing the beautiful contrast created by the combination of curved glass and polished metal.

Nokia-phone company Global HMD perceive the new 8.1 Nokia’s successor to the Nokia 7 Plus, but also for Nokia 8, and sales of both are slowly running out to make way for new models. The Nokia 7.1, which was launched in early November, is technically different from the new Nokia 8.1, with a slightly larger screen, higher-level cameras, and a more efficient system circuit and a higher-capacity battery.

Common to Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8.1 is their display support for HDR playback, i.e. the colors of a wider dynamic range. With HDR support, HMD Global also markets Nokia 8.1 display as PureDisplay. On the Nokia 8.1, the screen size is 6.18 inches and the resolution is 2246 × 1080 pixels. It also features a wide notch at its top and has an 18.7: 9 Aspect Ratio. The notch is wide, although it features a 20-megapixel front camera and conventional sensors.

Back of the Nokia 8.1 is glass-coated material. The aluminum frame on the sides, on the other hand, is rotated by a shiny diamond-cut “ribbon”, which has been seen earlier in the Nokia 7 Plus. The color options that come to Finland are blue with a silver border and a gray-colored variant with a copper edge.

From the interior Nokia 8.1 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 processor, which is Qualcomm best chipset high-range mobile segment. For cameras, Nokia 8.1 continues to work with ZEISS optics, that are used in DSLR cameras. The resolution of the main camera is 12 megapixels, the sensor used is a Sony IMX363 unit that offers fast dual pixel PDAF autofocus and 1.4-micron pixel size. In addition, the camera is also equipped with a relatively large f / 1.8 aperture and optical image stabilizer. The second camera in the back is a 13-megapixel fixed-resolution camera, which is used to record depth information.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is equipped with a 5.86-inch notched display. The resolution of the display is lower at 1520 × 720 pixels than the more expensive models. In addition, 5.1 Plus comes with a 13 and 5-megapixel dual-camera at the back, an 8-megapixel front camera, a MediaTek Helio P60 system processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a memory card slot, and a 3060mAh battery.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus MediaTek Helio P60 processor delivers high performance for lower range smartphones segment. In comparison, it has the similar performance of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630. The color options for the Nokia 5.1 Plus in Finland are blue and black.

Nokia 8.1 comes directly to the market with the Android 9 Pie operating system, the distribution of which has begun to be introduced step by step with Nokia 5.1 Plus.
