Xiaomi took to Twitter to announce the introduction of the Redmi Go today. The device comes with some impressive specs, including a 5-inch 16:9 LCD display with 1280×720 HD resolution.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 and packs in 4 ARM cortex A-53 cores, clocking a speed of 1.4 GHz. Further equipped with Qualcomm Adreno 308 GPU, Redmi Go boasts of 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage, which is expandable up to 128 GB via Micro SD.
The device sports an 8MP rear HDR camera setup with LED flash, 1.12 µm pixel size, and f/2.0 aperture in the camera department. For its part, the 5M selfie camera sports a 1.2 µm pixel size and f/2.2 aperture.
So far as its body is concerned, the Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) powered handset has dimensions of 140.4×70.1×8.35 mm and weighs around 137 gms. It receives its charge from a 3000 mAh battery and has been provided with a 5 V1A in-box charger. As far as its additional features are concerned, the device has dual-mic noise reduction and support for WiFi, Bluetooth, and micro USB and micro USB 2.0 connectivity; besides a dedicated slot for a micro SD card and dual slots for dual 4G SIMs.
It is being expected that the Redmi Go will be made available at a very cushy price of Rs. 4,999, in shades of black and blue. So far as the international market is concerned, the device may be priced at €80 in the European market upon its launch there this February. Its price in the Philippines remains to be determined.
