Fitbit Inspire and its advanced version Fitbit Inspire HR have been introduced and are reportedly the company’s cheapest as of date, but they are purchasable exclusively by corporate employees and health insurance members. A company or health insurance provider would have to entirely subsidize and issue these Fitbit Inspire fitness trackers by bulk.

In September 2018, Fitbit Care was launched for employers and health care plan providers. The platform consensually provides users’ health data to care teams for personalized fitness recommendations and offers users access to customized care plans through a health coach. The release of the Fitbit Inspire comes right after the September launch.

IN AN INTERVIEW WITH CNBC, Fitbit CEO James Park stated that Fitbit currently has 6.8 million patients, employees, and health plan members who have signed up in wellness programs that utilize Fitbit devices. The recent announcement aims to augment the number of business customers who are integral to aiding Fitbit’s revenue.

The device offers basic fitness tracking options, including mobile alerts via Bluetooth, activity tracking, sleep tracking, calorie monitoring, move reminders, and goal celebrations. The Fitbit Inspire comes in black and sangria color options and is moreover water-resistant up to 50 meters with a battery capacity of up to 5 days.

The more advanced version named Fitbit Inspire HR has additional features such as exercise modes, pace, and distance tracking, cardio fitness levels, 24/7 heart rate tracking, and sleep stages monitoring and comes in the color options of black, white/black, and lilac.

As users would not have to pay for the device, no price has been listed for the new fitness tracker, which reportedly is Fitbit’s cheapest device as of yet.

Even though Fitbit Versa is Fitbit’s fastest-selling wearable, with a sales count of 1 million units in less than two months after its launch, the company’s trajectory implies that the Fitbit Inspire might be the company’s most significant product.
