At Google I/O last year, Google previewed a new navigation system within Google Maps that uses AR to guide you to places. Google is continually enhancing its Map Search to deliver accurate and free location tracking services. Google Maps is a popular app and used by users as well as by corporate. With the help of AR, users will be able to get a bit of an advanced navigation system that will accurately point them to their destination.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Google Maps will soon be releasing a walking-focused augmented reality (AR) feature, a feature that reporter David Pierce was able to demo firsthand. Google Map AR will upgrade the way of navigation. The feature will work with Smartphone Camera; the demo showed at the conference showed pop-ups showing nearby businesses, shops, etc., along with navigation arrows to direct users to the searched location.

The new upgraded navigation system uses your camera to provide directions using augmented reality. This unique experience can open up Maps to give live direction. To start with the navigation, hit the start AR button, and Google Maps will guide you using the new system. The new system first asks you to move your phone around so it can determine precisely where you are at that moment and then provide directions based on that. You can just hold your phone up, and Google Maps will give you exact instructions in the real world.

The Maps’ new AR-powered navigation is going to be a significant step for navigation.  This new AR-powered navigation seems to be really promising at tracking the correct place along with the correct direction.
