Mobile World Congress 2019 Barcelona: Today at Oppo Innovation Event 2019, Oppo launched it’s first 5G phone. The company also unveiled the 10x smartphone camera zooming technology, which is capable of offering a 10x optical zooming lens.

Oppo 5G device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, fastest smartphone chipset with 2x AI performance and improved multimedia and gaming. The camera module includes a 48MP main sensor, along with a 123-degree wide angle lens, and 10x telephoto lens.

We’re proud to deliver our first Innovation Event for media and partners today. Innovation is our top priority and we have made many recent developments to bring the future into consumer’s hands. We look forward to continuing with this commitment and bringing to market more advances particularly in 5G and photography – Anyi Jiang, Vice President of Oppo.

The company said that the 10x lossless zoom phone is coming in Q2 this year, entering mass production of an innovative camera module in a smartphone based on D-cut periscopic dual OIS module. It seems Oppo to replace entry-level DSLRs with smartphones.
