Nokia launched 5 new smartphones at MWC 2019. HMD Global has claimed that Nokia is now the world’s largest feature phone manufacturer. The debuted Nokia phones include Nokia 210, Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2, and Nokia 9 PureView. Without further ado, let’s get into the details.

Nokia 210

The Nokia 210 was the first phone HMD launched during the event. It has come with specifications like an MT6260A SoC that runs on Nokia’s Series 30+ Operating system, and a 2.4-inch QGVA display. The phone touts a rear VGA camera. It has internet connectivity and supports 2.5G dual-SIM cards along with a removable 1020 mAh battery that is claimed to last for a month.

Nokia 210Nokia 210 has a Mobile Store that will enable users to download apps. For easy browsing, the phone comes with a pre-installed Opera Mini with no WiFi connectivity. It would be available in 3 variants Charcoal, Red, and Grey color options. The Nokia 210 will be available from next week in red, gray, and black at $35 (roughly Rs. 2,500).

Nokia 1 Plus

Nokia calls this smartphone an upgraded version that is claimed to be ‘the best-selling Android Go smartphone.’ The smartphone touts a 5.45-inch IPS LCD with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It comes with inbuilt storage options of 8 GB and 16 GB. In terms of camera, the phone has an 8MP rear camera with flash and a 5 MP front shooter. Packed with a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor along with 1 GB RAM.

Nokia 1 PlusIt comes with a 2500 mAh battery and runs on the Android 9 Go edition. The phone is built in a polycarbonate shell and is 8.5 thick, 12 percent slimmer than its predecessor. It will be accessible in three colors red, black, and blue and will be available in early March at $99 (roughly Rs. 7,100).

Nokia 3.2

Nokia 3.2Nokia 3.2 has a 6.26-inch HD+ water-drop display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 SoC and comes with different RAM and ROM options. The phone has 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB options, and can be expanded via microSD up to 400 GB. A 13 MP f/2.2 autofocus lens on the back and 5 MP fixed-focus selfie snapper handle the camera department. Nokia claims its 4000 mAh battery can last up to two days. It comes with Face Unlock whereas the fingerprint scanner is available only on the 32 GB variant of the smartphone. The Nokia 3.2 is priced at $139 (roughly Rs. 10,000). This phone will start shipping in April 2019, HMD Global claimed.

Nokia 4.2

The phone has a smaller 5.71-inch HD+ display with a water-drop style notch. It has an aspect ratio of 19:9 and has a 2.5d curved glass. The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 and comes in two variants 2 GB + 16 GB and 3GB + 32GB which can be expanded till 400 GB.

Nokia 4.2The smartphone packs a 3,000mAh battery. It also comes with AI face unlock, and a dedicated Google Assistant button. Its power button also doubles as an LED indicator for notifications. Nokia 4.2’s fingerprint sensor is integrated for NFC payments but only in selected markets. Nokia 4.2 will ship with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, priced at $169 (roughly Rs. 12,100). The phone starts shipping in April 2019.

Nokia 9 PureView

The highlight of HMD Global’s MWC event is undoubtedly the new Nokia 9 smartphone which sports five rear cameras; the Penta-camera set up. The Penta-camera setup on the Nokia 9 looks like a constellation in terms of its design. The Penta-camera module comprises five 12-megapixel cameras with three monochromatic lenses (f/1.8) and two RGB lenses (f/1.8). Each lens can be controlled individually and comes with HDR support. For selfies, there’s a 20-megapixel front camera.

Nokia 9 PureviewIn terms of specifications, Nokia 9 features a 5.99-inch pOLED QHD display with HDR 10 support. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of in-built storage. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor, Qi wireless charging, and is IP67 certified. The software runs on Android 9 Pie (Android One) out-of-the-box.

It is priced roughly Rs. 50,000 and the phone will be available from March 2019.
