Back in February, HTC unveiled the Vive Focus Plus, a new version of its Vive Focus standalone headset. Now HTC has announced that the Vive Focus Plus is all set to launch next month.
The soon-to-be-available device seems quite an improvement over the earlier Vive Focus standalone headset.
Being an autonomous headset complete with two 6DoF fully tracked motion controllers, the HTC Vive Focus Plus has been designed for business customers. It includes new Fresnel lenses that promise to deliver more distinct images on the 1440 x 1600 pixels per eye screen.
Vive Focus Plus uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor and uses built-in 6DoF tracking for inside-out tracking to ensure the exclusion of wires and external cameras.
It comes with a modified Vive Wave software platform known as “Multi-Mode” which makes it easier to access Vive VR content on the VR headsets and on PCs, laptops, consoles, and even smartphones.
The Standalone VR headset will be available from April 15 onwards at $799 in 25 markets globally.
