At an event, Huawei launched a slew of new products including the new editions of Watch GT, FreeLace earbuds and a new pair of smart glasses.

The Huawei Watch GT Active and GT Elegant is Huawei’s fitness-focused version of the Huawei Watch series. The Huawei Watch GT Elegant is the smaller version of Huawei’s hit smartwatch that focuses on style and elegance.

The Huawei Watch GT Active is similar to the original Huawei Watch GT. It comes with the same 46mm frame size and silicon bands. It does, however, come in two new colors – dark green and orange. The Active Edition has a two-week battery life with all day wear and heart rate monitoring while the Elegant edition will run shorter for just about a week with similar usage.

Huawei Watch GTBoth watches come with a Triathlon mode for tracking outdoor cycling, running and open water swimming and will be able to record the whole session with intervals. The Huawei Watch GT Active and Huawei Watch GT Elegant will be priced at €249 (approx. Rs 19,300) and €229 (approx. Rs 17,750) respectively.

Huawei also launched the long-anticipated FreeLace Bluetooth headset along with the Freebuds Lite which looks very much like the Apple AirPods 2. The FreeLace headset has a design that would be most appealing to sportspersons and those who like listening to music while exercising. It comes with a collar (over-the-shoulder design) which would prevent it from falling off easily while running.

There is also a magnetic clasp in each ear which helps keep the earbuds together. Apart from organizing the earbuds, the magnetic clasp also functions during calls. It allows users to receive calls by just detaching the pair and placing them on your ears.

The Huawei FreeLace bud comes with a USB-C port which offers fast data transfer and rapid charging of the gadget. As for the audio quality, the earbuds are powerful, driven by the 9.2mm titanium-plated drivers, which bring solid audio for anyone that wants merely a pair of workout earbuds.

On the other hand, the Freebuds Lite has a true wireless (TWS) design which means there’ll be no wire to disturb your fun. The pair of true wireless buds offer 12 hours of battery life which is quite vague. It is unlike that the gadget will be capable of 12 hours of audio playback.

Huawei in collaboration with eyewear company Gentle Monster has also developed its own line of smart glasses. Though it looks similar to those traditional spectacles, Huawei’s smart glasses will come equipped with antennas, dual microphones, a speaker and a battery. The glasses will also come with a charging case which will use NFC contactless charging for wirelessly charging the device. The case for smart glasses notably has a 2,200mAh battery. However, the prices of smart glasses are not yet announced.
