A few months ago, serial leakster @Onleaks shared a high-quality render of what the next “iPhone XI” might look like, and it features a squarish camera bump that has a triple-camera array. But it appears that Apple will finally jump on a triple-camera bandwagon for the upcoming iPhone XI.

The newest leak comes courtesy of an anonymous industry insider named Mr. White, who has shared schematics of the next-generation iPhone. These schematics reveal that the chassis design of the 2019 iPhones will be in line with current generation iPhone models, but there will be a major difference when it comes to camera placement.

Details about this new setup remain scarce at the minute, but, just like Apple’s previous iPhones, the left column of sensors should correspond with the main camera and the telephoto alternative. Speaking of which, one previous report pointed towards 14-megapixel and 10-megapixel resolutions for these cameras, respectively. Unfortunately, though, no further information was provided at the time.

The top left corner of the schematic shows three circular cut-outs and two square cut-outs. In the past, Apple has used an array of cutouts in these positions to fit camera modules, flash, and microphones. The leaked schematics are in line with the previous leak, which claimed to show one of the many designs being tested by Apple for the next-generation iPhone.

Alongside these visual upgrades, some other improvements are to be expected too. More specifically, the iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max should benefit from Apple’s next-gen A13 chip paired with the highly anticipated iOS 13 release which should finally integrate a native Dark Mode. The 2019 flagships may also support reverse wireless charging for the first time, allowing users to charge both their Apple Watch and AirPods by placing them on top of the devices.

Apple usually announces its latest iPhones at an annual event held in early September. If Apple continues with the tradition, the event should be held on either September 10th or September 11th.
