At the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, Karma Automotive unveiled the company’s next chapter, of New Dawn products. Unleashed by timeless design, future-forward technology, and growing its presence in the burgeoning world of electric vehicles.

Today, Karma is all ready to move forward with bold steps, a chapter we call our New Dawn – Dr. Lance Zhou, CEO, Karma

Southern California-based Karma Automotive marks a significant moment by ushering in a new era for the company with its punctuated design, customization of high-tech engineering capabilities with its three new products; a trio Karma calls it’s Shanghai Big Three.

The first debut of the event was the Karma Revero GT that represents a rebrand and facelift of the original 2012 Karma. Offering an evolutionary design change, that will be available later this year. Like past Karma models, the Karma Revero GT is electric powered with a gasoline engine as a range extender but the only difference this time is its BMW-sourced turbocharged three-cylinder. Though the pricing hasn’t been announced it is likely to be within the same range as the Revero’s $130,000 starting price.

Karma’s Pininfarina GT Coupe was the next debut in partnership with the famed Italian design house. The exterior has not a single panel shared with its former four-door self, and the same goes for the interior. Pininfarina’s design is said to be likely for production.

The new Karma Pininfarina GT two-door coupé sits on the same platform as the new Revero, and will use the same powertrain, but features an extensively reworked body and interior developed in conjunction with Italian design house Pininfarina.

The Chinese-backed Karma has also displayed a bold SC1 Vision Concept at the show, as part of its three-car ‘new dawn’ product showcase to launch the brand into the China market and highlight its bold expansion plans. While the Revero GT and Karma Pininfarina GT are both near-production models, the SC1 Vision Concept unveiled at Shanghai is designed to showcase the firm’s future ambitions for a fully electric model.

It seems that the company is keen to shed its turbulent past and come forward with its karmic rebirth – the company’s new cars for its new era.
