Amazon Pay has been enabled with person to person payments for Android users. This means Amazon customers can now make instant bank-to-bank transfers using UPI platform on the Amazon app.

The new feature will enable users of the platform to perform fund transfers via UPI on the Amazon app instantly. So far, Amazon’s digital payments arm, Amazon Pay, was only offering UPI payments through Axis bank. But that may change soon.

Additionally, the feature will rival Google Pay by enabling the functionality to transfer of money to your contacts, paying rent and other bills via the app. As a launch offer, users of the service can avail up to Rs 120 cashback on Sending Money through UPI.

Customers can utilize the functionality to settle bills and other expenses with friends, lend/return money easily to family, pay for services like house-help, pay rents, newspaper bills, and many more. Users can also make payments from their bank account to local stores nearby or Amazon delivery associate at the doorstep by just scanning UPI QR codes using the Amazon app.

Customers can easily access their phone contacts and initiate payments by merely tapping on the contact. Amazon auto-detects the registered contacts for Amazon Pay UPI customer and enables the instant bank to bank transfer. If the contact is not registered for Amazon Pay UPI, the customer has the option to pay using any another Bhim UPI ID or contact’s bank account.
