We are exactly 1 month from Apple’s largest developer conference: the WWDC 2019. If you’re an Apple fan, you know this event’s importance. Besides being here that you get to know the great innovations in the level of software of Apple, this is also the cradle of everything that we know in terms of applications.

In this article, I will try to summarize what to expect from this WWDC and the possible new features of the new systems: macOS 10.15, iOS 13, watchOS 6 and tvOS 13.

macOS 10.15

iTunes – The beginning of the end

Apple seems to be listening to its users. A long-requested request is the fragmentation of iTunes into several other specific apps.

This information was “confirmed” by the programmer Guilherme Rambo, through sources linked to the development of the system.

“I confirmed with sources familiar with the development of the next major release of macOS – probably 10.15 – that the system will include standalone music, podcasts, and TV applications, but will also include a major overhaul of the Books application. “

Marzipan Project

Last year Apple gave us a sneak peek of what’s to come relative to cross-platform apps. And this year we’ll probably hear more about this great apple project.

Shortcuts and Screen Time

Most likely with the help of Marzipan, Apple will bring the Siri Shortcuts to the Mac. Just as Siri behaves differently on Macs, the Shortcuts are likely to fit the larger screens. The application is, at least for me, a big step in iOS and, sure enough, will make the Mac become more automated.

In addition to the Shortcuts, Screen Time will also be transported to the macOS. Just like in iOS, the time can be synchronized between devices and, most likely, will now be split across platforms.

iOS 13

iOS has long been the focus of WWDC. And even so, it has not cheered many fans of news as it has focused on small improvements in iPhones and given more attention to the iPad (as in iOS 11) or stabilizations (as in iOS 12). In fact, many new features of the future iOS 13 were expected when version 12 was released. But due to the numerous bugs brought with iOS 11, Apple chose to delay some features. Let’s go to them:

Home Screen Redesign

This is expected a long time ago! The iOS grid icons have become annoying, though they are an Apple brand. It was also the main button of the iPhones, which is gone with the release of the iPhone X. Apple needs to change, even if it maintains the style of the grid.

I have seen some wonderful concepts and particularly think that maintaining the grid design but giving the user the option of greater personalization of the main screen is the perfect junction of what the consumer wants and maintaining the Apple look.

Dark mode

The dark mode is as long-awaited as the redesign of the home screen. Already featured in Mojave macOS, it almost certainly appears (finally!) On iOS 13.

This mode, and more beneficial to eye health, will allow greater use of the OLED screens, which now equip iPhones. In addition, we will have more battery life!

Many apps have already joined the dark mode, such as Facebook Messenger and Twitter, but Apple will be bringing this feature natively. In addition to bringing more charm to the new iOS, it will be a great resource for our health: eyes and battery.

Mail

One application practically left out is Mail. Third-party apps have been gaining extremely useful functions while the Apple native is stuck in some temporal vortex.

But that seems to be about to change. Apple is expected to add in the app functions as an organization by categories, in addition to the option of postponing an email.

Volume HUD

This change is to glorify standing! I think if iOS 13 were basically that, it would already make a lot of people happy.

Apple is sworn to death to make the change. It will be interesting to see how they will redraw this little detail of the system, but that makes so much difference in the experience.

iPad

The iPad looks like it will finally gain the special attention it deserves! Apple should launch a new multitasking system with windows similar to Macs, but optimized for the touch screens of iPads.

tvOS 13

For the tvOS 13, no more news is expected beyond the arrival of the Apple TV+. Of course, as in any software, bug fixes and stability issues are expected.

watchOS 6

One of the cores of Apple Watch is customization. It is practically right to see new dials to customize the clocks. Another important watch for the clock is the activities. Further customization of the activity rings is expected.

A long-awaited function to compose these rings is sleep analysis. It is not known if the Cupertino Gigante will need a hardware change in a future Apple Watch to present this function, but we already have third-party apps that supply this lack, I imagine that Apple can present it through software.

The first betas of the new systems should come out right after the announcement to the developers. Participants in the public beta program should have to wait until the end of June to be able to test the software.
