Vice President of the display division of Samsung has confirmed that the availability of the first screens with integrated cameras is no longer so far away.
When Apple unveiled its new iPhone X to the world, Samsung was immediately at the forefront of criticizing the adoption of the large front notch, much needed to house a camera and various sensors. Between 2018 and 2019, the Korean manufacturer then started for the first time to compromise from that point of view, in the name of a borderless design, by launching smartphones with a drop-shaped notch and holes in the display. With Galaxy A80 it then showed they wanted to probe for alternative routes, but the real definitive solution, able to make everyone agree, could be closer than you think.
It is no secret that the proliferation of notches and other similar aberrations are due to the momentary inability of manufacturers to integrate frontal cameras under the display. The feature is in development for some time now, although it is requiring great efforts to be perfected. Samsung is among the producers who are working harder on technological innovation and confirming it again is none other than Yang Byung-Duk, Vice President of Samsung’s display division.
At the moment, it is not yet clear when we will see on the market the first smartphones capable of boasting such an interesting novelty. It is expected to be a truly borderless display without continuity solutions, for a really impressive glance. The hope is that the technology can see the light already in the course of this 2019, but Samsung could also decide to proceed with caution and unsheat it only in 2020.
