May 9, 2019, 9:30 am

Japanese company Sharp has made its announcement to launch a new premium smartphone named the Sharp Aquos R3; the 2019 flagship and the sequel to last year dual notch touting Aquos R2 compact.

The Sharp Aquos R3 comes with HDR10 support and has two notches one at the top with the 16.3MP selfie camera, and the other at the bottom which surrounds the fingerprint scanner housed in the home button. It touts a 6.2-inch Pro IGZO panel that has 3120 x 1440-pixel resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

For photography, the Aquos R3 features a 20MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, and it supports pixel binning along with a wide-angle lens that supports a 125º field of view. For videos, there’s OIS while the selfie camera on the front supports a resolution of 16MP.

If the front speaker isn’t enough, the device receives a second speaker at the top edge for more immerse and spectacular sound output. The speaker uses Dolby Atmos surround sound technology.

Talking about the innards, the Sharp Aquos R3 will come with Snapdragon 855 SoC which is laced with 6GB RAM along with 128GB of storage onboard. The smartphone runs on Android Pie. Pricing and availability details of the Sharp Aquos R3 are not yet available.
