Panasonic has introduced its electric vehicle charging service in India hoping to disrupt the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country. A first-of-its-kind smart EV charging service in India – Nymbus. It is a futuristic charging service that combines physical components such as charging stations, onboard charges, swap stations, and telematics systems along with the virtual components like cloud service, analytics, intuitive dashboard, and artificial intelligence to deliver a one-stop solution.

With the launch of the EV charging service, Panasonic for the first time is venturing into service domain in energy and eMobility we are creating an integrated common platform to cater to unsatiated needs of multiple stakeholders and enable faster adoption of EV in the country – Manish Sharma, President, and CEO, Panasonic India

The service comes provisioned with telematics sensors on the vehicles, allowing users to generate real-time data and reports from the continuous operation. Thus enabling them to use their fleet most efficiently. Built in order to learn and gain intelligence over the time, the systems are drawn to assist the fleet managers in tracking and monitoring the entire fleet such as finding out the efficiency of different battery packs, monitoring of vehicle data usage, avoiding unnecessary charge trips due to lack of charging and real-time data, etc. The cloud and app service also enables EV and fleet owners to easily search for and navigate the nearest charging point, thus reducing any logistical challenges.

Panasonic has joined hands with electric mobility service providers Smart E and Quick to deploy the EV charging solution for 150 Smart E electric three-wheelers and on 25 quick two-wheelers in the Delhi NCR region. The service is developed with an investment of Rs 50 crore, will be launched in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Amaravati in the next three years to cater 10,000 electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

The service could potentially have use cases for electric vehicle fleet owners, eCommerce, food-tech, and logistics companies to manage their fleet more efficiently.
