LG Electronics will challenge the Indian market with its low-end smartphone ‘W10’. With this launch competition between Samsung Electronics and LG are expected to intensify in the Indian smartphone market.

According to industry sources, LG Electronics is launching the W10 in India this month. The W10 features a ‘drip notch’ design, a rear triple camera and a fingerprint sensor. LG described it as a “pocket-worthy price” product with a price range of 100,000 to 200,000 won.

LG W10 is expected to compete in the mid to low-priced devices such as the Galaxy M Series that Samsung released this year. Samsung has announced that it has sold 2 million units of Galaxy M series produced locally since January.

Particularly in the online market, companies offer various discounts throughout the year. Chinese companies such as Xiaomi are expanding their market share with events linked with Bollywood.

As for prices, the LG W series will have a price below Rs. 15,000, including the phone with triple rear cameras. As for the denomination, there are several models in the new W series, so you can expect LG to use names like W10, W20, and W30, etc. Filtered images of promotional material from LG have indicated that at least one phone in the series will have a water notch screen, an octa-core MediaTek Helio (12nm) 2.0 GHz SoC, a 4,000 mAh battery.

In recent years, companies like Xiaomi and RealMe who have concentrated on online sales, are now increasing their offline sales as well. The offline market is 60% of the total smartphone market.
