Asus has recently been long teasing to launch an extensive range of ATX boards for the X570 chipset in Computex 2019. Two more gaming-oriented models have been added in DTX mini format with the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Impact and ITX format with Asus ROG Strix X570- I Gaming motherboard.

There are many users who choose to set up their own gaming computers in small formats, and one of the keys is to acquire an ITX-size bale or its Mini-DTX variant. This format is a hybrid between a Micro-ATX and an ITX where the board is as narrow as an ITX, but a bit longer, being able to house more elements in them besides the dedicated GPU.

The ASUS ROG Strix X570-I Gaming motherboard we have is from the Strix Gaming range, and in this case, it is pure ITX format.

It also has two DIMM slots that support 64 GB of DDR4 RAM at 3800 MHz and a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot to install GPU. However, its presence will not be strictly necessary since we do have HDMI and DisplayPort video connectors that support UHD resolution at 60 Hz as it should be. The main storage configuration consists of two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, one in the front zone and one in the rear zone, in addition to 4 SATA 6 Gbps protocol connectors.

The rear panel offers a total of 3 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and one Type-C, along with 4 USB 3.1 Gen1. It is more or less the same as we have in the rest of the Strix range under the X570 chipset.

And in the case of an ITX badge, wireless connectivity will be mandatory, with Wi-Fi 6 evidently following the path of its older sisters. Although with only an RJ-45 connector of 1000 Mb / s normal and current. For space reasons, the sound chip is again Realtek S1220A through an M.2 card.
