Realme is working on a phone with Samsung’s 64 MP GW1 sensor and plans to release it soon in India. The CEO of Realme, Madhav Sheth, has just announced on Twitter that the brand is working on a new smartphone that will be the first in the world to have a 64MP camera.

This photograph shows a beautiful panoramic view of a city and a watermark below it indicates that, in the first place, the camera of the model consists of four sensors and, secondly, the resolution of the main sensor is 64-MP (this sensor would be the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1).

The sensor is the largest you can get in a 1 / 1.72-inch phone, which results in a single pixel size of 1.6μm. It is a Tetra cell type sensor (which is Samsung for Quad Bayer), which means that it will generate 16MP images natively. Not only this but as you can see in the watermark, it will only be one of the four snappers on the back.

While he did not give a date for the launch of the phone, the CEO of Realme promised to launch in India sooner than anywhere else and seeing how he is already able to capture photos worth sharing, the launch cannot be too long now.

We could also likely to see this new device of the company at the MWC 2019 exhibition in Shanghai, where the world’s first smartphone with a secondary display camera, developed by Oppo is presented. The event will also showcase the company’s phone debut. Live with 5G support and a fast charging load capacity of 120W.

It’s still unknown what models will arrive with this sensor, although surely many mid-range smartphones may opt for it by the end of 2019. The new Realme could be the first device marketed with this 64-megapixel camera.
