The European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) has rated the Tesla Model 3 in its latest round of crest tests with a full five stars – and it’s the same number as in the tests of the US agency NHTSA.

The European testers were impressed by the California electric car. “The Tesla Model 3 made a strong debut with a perfect result in the frontal offset crash test with a deformable barrier,” they said. “The performance in the Safety Assist tests was particularly convincing thanks to outstanding driver assistance systems such as Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Assist, and autonomous emergency braking.”

The Tesla Model 3 which has been subjected to the tests of the independent European body, which evaluates the safety of the cars that have just entered the Old Continent market, is the Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD. The electric sedan produced by the Californian company founded and chaired by Elon Musk has achieved excellent results in the four different areas subject to testing and evaluation.

The Tesla Model 3 recorded an excellent 96% with regard to the protection of adult occupants, a score that falls slightly, reaching 86%, relative to the protection of children on board. On the assessment of the ability to protect pedestrians and other road users in the event of an accident, the electric sedan scored 74%. Finally, the evaluation concerning the effectiveness of active safety systems is particularly high at 94%.

The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) had already tested the Model 3 in September 2018 and was also awarded it five stars.  “Tesla has managed to use the construction of an electric car to his advantage. Above all, the impact of a collision is because there is no mechanical engine at the front and the center of gravity of the vehicle is very low, ” says the Euro NCAP report. The electric sedan Model S 2014 also received the best rating of five stars.
