Display plays an important role in any smartphone. This adds a face value to the phone that attracts the onlooker instantly. Since its inception, Samsung has carved out a niche place in the competitive market with its edge display. The curved screens are used for the advanced Galaxy S and Note series. Samsung has been working to improve its display technology and is expected to come out with more advanced screen technology in the future. The screen will continue to extend to the sides of the phone, giving the device a whole new and futuristic look.

LetsGoDigital has over the years encountered various patents from Samsung in which advanced telephone screens were used, think of a 3D curved display or a smartphone screen that covers the front, side, and back.

According to Samsung insider Ice Universe, the Korean manufacturer has now manufactured various curved displays that extend to almost the entire side of the device. A metal frame is no longer visible on the side, the physical buttons will also be replaced by virtual ones.

However, there is not only good news to report, because Samsung is said to have canceled the program. The so-called Full-Screen v2.0 screens will not be used in Galaxy smartphones for the time being. A name has already surfaced for a smartphone in development that will have this new design. This is the Samsung Galaxy A100.

There have been rumors about this new futuristic design for some time. First, it was expected that Samsung would apply this new display technology to the Galaxy Note 10 series, which is expected next month. We now know, however, that the Note 10 will show many similarities in design with the Galaxy S10 series launched earlier this year.

Samsung is increasingly opting to use new innovative technologies first in a Galaxy A-series smartphone. These middle-class smartphones do very well with young people and give Samsung the chance to gain feedback from users. Upon success, the technology is further developed to be applied in the high-end models.

It is certainly not inconceivable that the new full-screen display will be used first with the Samsung Galaxy A100. The Galaxy A80 has been available in the Netherlands for a week, and there is also a Galaxy A90 under development. This advanced middle-class phone will probably show many similarities with the Note 10.

The Samsung Galaxy A100 will probably no longer appear in 2019. Samsung may see the opportunity to introduce this device at the beginning of 2020, even before the introduction of the Galaxy S11. Because it remains remarkable that Samsung has (temporarily) aborted the Full-Screen v2.0 program. Finally, the company has always achieved a clear advantage with its advanced screen technology.

Moreover, the competition does not stand still either. Samsung has to deal with a shrinking market share, the Galaxy smartphones are not nearly as innovative as a few years ago. The same applies to Apple iPhones. While Chinese manufacturers such as Huawei, Vivo, and Oppo time and again manage to put innovative phones on the market. Standing still is going backward. Samsung will have to get started!
